Sheepskin Boots Care

Washing And Cleaning Instructions

Water resisting

Your Ugg Boots are not waterproof. To help protect your boots and make them water resistant you will need to use  Koalabi Water & Oil Repellent spray. Just spray your boots, allow 10 min to dry and wear them away! Waterproofing your sheepskin boots will protect your boots from cooking oil, dirt or water and increase their life. Be aware though, that once your footwear gets wet, you need to apply another coat after they have dried. The first time this coating is applied should ideally be when the footwear is new.

Washing the uggs

Wet entire boot or shoe with cold or warm water. It is important not to use hot water as it may weaken the glue and cause shrinking. Apply Koalabi Shampoo & Conditioner to a clean sponge or soft brush. Clean the entire area thoroughly and evenly.  Once you have washed and rinsed the footwear in cold water. After washing ugg boots can be sprayed with Koalabi Water & Oil Repellent spray.

Reshape by stuffing with a paper towel.

Allow to dry naturally and slowly - DO NOT dry in direct heat or sunlight.

Ugg boots cannot be dried in a clothes dryer. They must be air dried, preferably hanging upside down from the sole and away from heat and direct sunlight. The boots will take several days to dry completely. You will notice once the footwear has dried that they have shrunk slightly but this is normal. After wearing them for an hour or so, they will go back to the normal, warm and comfortable state you are used to and at the same time, be clean.

Brushing the uggs

Once footwear is dry, lightly brush with suede/nubuck brush in one direction only to raise the nap, natural tracking and to create a smooth even appearance.

If cared for properly your ugg boots should last for years.

Please remember:

DO NOT SOAK if possible

DO NOT USE FABRIC CONDITIONER

DO NOT USE ANY ARTIFICIAL HEAT TO DRY

DO NOT DRY IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT

Removing The Stains

If you have a grease stain on your footwear, use a razor or sharp knife to scrub some powder from white chalk over the stain, leave it for a few minutes. Then blow away the access chalk and with your hand, gently rub the stain. Repeat this a few times until the stain has almost disappeared. For extremely tough stains you can gently rub the stain with sandpaper but beware that this may take the colour away.

Removing Rain Spots

Sometimes you can get what we call "spotting" where the footwear have come into contact with a few drops of water. You can usually eliminate this by folding the footwear onto itself, that is skin against skin and gently rub it together.

Deodorizing Your Uggs

Use a mixture of 2 tsp. baking soda and 2 tsp. corn flour to deodorize and soften the inside of the boots. If you wish, you can add a few drops of essential oil to create a sweet scent. Shake the mixture into the boots and let it stand overnight. Shake the excess out the next day.
